Description

An application for outline planning permission has been submitted for the erection of domestic dwellings on a parcel of land immediately east of Knighton Lane, Broadmayne. The village of Broadmayne has an early medieval or earlier origin and the area surrounding the site has substantial remains of medieval settlement and agricultural earthworks, including the site of the deserted settlement of Friar Mayne. There is also extensive evidence for Early Bronze Age funerary remains and for Late Iron Age and Roman settlement and agricultural remains. The Site lies within an area of known former medieval settlement and field systems and one earthwork bank survives on the site. Information from OASIS Online Form.
