Description

A survey of all the non-scheduled barrows in the county conducted by the Trust for Wessex Archaeology for English Heritage. Those areas covered in the South Dorset Ridgeway (1983) and the Isle of Purbeck (1982) surveys were excluded. Survey work was undertaken by Martin Papworth. Several unrecorded sites were noted, and new observations made concerning known sites.
