Description

Excavation of a ditched bowl barrow by M E Best in 1963 showed the barrow had been built on a land surface with several pits containing late Neolithic material, possibly indicating an occupation site. The barrow consisted of a central cairn covered by a turf stack capped with chalk. Under the cairn was a contracted inhumation in a central cist, and unaccompanied contracted child inhumation in another cist, and six secondary inhumations.
