Description

Observation of sixteen 2 m by 2 m by 1 m deep foundation holes showed 0.5m-0.7m of disturbed modern topsoil overlying natural sand. The holes were located along the sides of a 48 m by 28 m area. There was no evidence of Iron Age/ Romano-British occupation, or of the Hamworthy-Badbury Roman road thought to pass through or very near to, the south corner of the site. (1)
