Poole Museums Service conducted an archaeological watching brief on groundworks for new flats at 75A North Street during the summer of 1986.
1.2m of topsoil containing modern debris at its base overlay natural gravel. Several 19th-20th century features were noted. No Saxon features were observed although the excavators noted that watching briefs of this type only have a very low chance of identifying post-hole structures. [1] NGR possibly SY 922 876.
