Description

Poole Museum Service carried out a watching brief during groundworks associated with the construction of Bearwood First School, Wheelers Lane, Poole in 1993. The area had previously been subject to evaluation excavation by Wessex Archaeology in 1992. Four linear ditches were observed, which could be related to features discovered during the earlier evaluation. These form part of a ditched field system. The latest ditch in the sequence contained Romano-British pottery. (1)
