Description
An archaeological evaluation of the site was carried out in October 1996. The investigation involved the excavation and recording of three trenches; two measuring 33m in length and one 20m. Three subsoil features, two of which were probably post holes, were recorded in the SW zone of the site, but did not contain any artefacts. A few fragments of Medieval and Post-Medieval pottery were recovered from spoil heaps only. There is no evidence for Medieval field systems on the site and the area appears to contain little potential for archaeological deposits related to earlier settlement activity.
