Description

Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Parsons and Joyce Contractors Ltd to carry out an archaeological evaluation in connection with the proposed development of the site. Four trenches, covering 35 sq m in total, were excavated by machine and cleaned by hand. The trenches were excavated to the top of natural deposits, in this case alluvium. No archaeological features were recorded. Modern finds were noted but not retained. The ground level of the site had been partly truncated and partly raised in the recent past. Project code: W4295. NMR Microfilm Index PRN: 7562.
