Description

Poole Museum Service carried out a watching brief during alterations to 21 The Quay, Poole. The works exposed a layer of dark grey/black soil over one metre deep with a number of post-medieval or modern intrusions. The development area lies in an area of land reclaimed from the sea in the 16th/17th century. No stratified finds were recovered during the archaeological works, although finds recovered by the ground workers were of 17th/18th century date. (1)
