Description

AC archaeology conducted an archaeological evaluation on land to the rear of 10-10a South Street during September 2002. Two trial trenches measuring 2m x 1m were excavated in the NW and NE corners of a car park. The work was conducted in advance of the construction of two houses and revealed occupation soils up to 900mm thick, demolition rubble and a surface that may relate to a 19th or 20th century brick building.
