Description

In advance of a proposed residential development, six trenches were dug. They revealed residual flint scatters from the Mesolithic to the Late Neolithic/ early Bronze age and residual pottery from the early Iron Age to the post Medieval period. Significant landscaping during the construction of the former Admiralty Buildings has altered the site's topography, but the original ground surface is preserved. The evaluation represents a 3 percent sample of the development site.
