Description

Observations were made during the construction of a new jetty at Portland Harbour. The breakwater was seen to consist of large limestone sets on a layer of rough concrete which covered the limestone rubble makeup of the breakwater. In some pits upright timber post were observed, possibly the remains of staging used in the breakwater's construction.
