Description
Limited trial excavations were carried out by Southampton University under the direction of Dr David Peacock on the northern shore of Hengistbury Head. This work was undertaken in advance of stabilisation works along the Barnfield Inlet. The trenches exposed a complex series of Iron Age and Roman deposits. (1)
