Summary

Faint crop marks seen on an aerial photograph taken in 1973, and interpreted as possible enclosure ditches. Cropmarks of an incomplete later prehistoric or Roman rectilinear enclosure located at SY 7750 9740 with irregular sides, curved corners and a narrow entrance to the NW. This is visible on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording programme.

Full Description

Area SY 775974. Faint crop-marks suggestive of enclosure ditches. <1> Cropmarks of an incomplete later prehistoric or Roman rectilinear enclosure located at SY 7750 9740 with irregular sides, curved corners and a narrow entrance to the NW. separate linear ditch can be seen extending NW from the western corner, to the edge of the modern field. To the east of the enclosure are the faint traces of linear ditches which may be an associated field system extending across the field in which the enclosure sits. These features are visible on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording programme. <2>
