Summary
A post office built 1904-5 to a design by architect John Rutherford. Now converted to commercial use. The building has walls of red brick with Portland stone dressings and a tiled roof. A striking feature of the exterior is the entrance which is at the corner of the building, and topped with a green copper dome. A war memorial inscription put up in 1920 and designed by Thomas Hardy is now in the doorway of the new post office building in Trinity Street.
