Listed Building record MDO10286 - Pond Farmhouse, Hilfield
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A house built around the middle of the seventeenth century. The building has walls of coursed stone rubble and a slate roof with brick chimney stacks. It is thought likely that the house was built originally on a four-room plan with a central cross passaged flanked by service rooms. Surviving features of the interior are reported to include fireplaces and ceiling beams; some of the original roof timbers may have been reset.
