Summary

A house built around the middle of the eighteenth century with nineteenth-century alterations and additions, including the upper floor. The building has walls partly ashlar and part covered in render with rusticated quoins, and a slate roof with brick chimney stacks.

Full Description

Buckshaw House. Mid C18th, 2-storeyed house, extensively altered in the C19th. The upper floor is a C19th addition. <1> <2> House built circa 1730. It was originally the size of a small manor house. In 1894 major alterations were made to the house. The house was enlarged through the addition of a storey and two new wings. The south side elevation was also lengthened. <6>
