Summary
Country House, 1904-6 by Leonard Stokes for Lord Digby. The house, which is on the site of an earlier house built in 1714, has walls of squared, coursed and dressed rubble and ashlar. Ham Hill stone is used throughout, and it has stone slated roofs with stone copings and ashlar chimney stacks.

Full Description
The manor of Minterne, a possession of Cerne Abbey until the Dissolution, was rebuilt in 1714. <1, 2, 4>
The present Minterne House is entirely modern, with no remains of the 18th century house. Oswald says it was built in 1903-6 "in place of a Victorian house of no merit". <5>
Minterne House was built between 1904-6 by Leonard Stokes, his only large country-house commission. <6>
