Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A flint and chalk structure sealed by the back of the Roman town rampart was exposed and recorded in 1955. This was thought to be metalling of a road running round inside the defences, but has been reinterpreted as the footing for a town wall.
