Full Description
Lewcombe, centred at ST 559075, is listed as a deserted medieval village. The parish church of St James, Lewcombe, is an isolated 16th century church, rebuilt in the 18th century, on the site of a 12th century church. Lewcombe Farmhouse (ST 55900754) is early 18th century and Lewcombe Manor (ST 55800738), also known as Lewcombe House, is mid-19th century. No visible evidence of any earthworks, which could be associated with a depopulated or deserted village, was found during field work. (1-4)

If village site lay south of church then it has been destroyed by Lewcombe House and its extensive gardens. Area north of church is boggy waste ground. (6)
