Summary

A World War II type 25 pillbox located at Sea Barn, East Fleet. It has a round hexagonal plan, is constructed of reinforced concrete and corrugated iron shuttering and was built in 1940-41. A field visit in 1992 found it to be in a good condition.

Full Description

Round hexagonal type 25 pillbox. Built with corrugated iron shuttering.Sea Barn, East Fleet. <1-3> A Second World War Type 25 pillbox built with corrugated iron shuttering is visible on aerial photographs taken at East Fleet in 1984 (1/2). It is also visible on the most recent aerial photograph coverage available to the project (3/4). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
