Summary
A lime kiln recorded as ‘old limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-2) Ordnance Survey map. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who could find no trace of the kiln structure. It is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs.

Full Description
A lime kiln marked on the first edition OS map (1) also marked on the second edition (2) The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who could find no trace of the kiln structure. The site of the kiln is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs {3} and was digitally plotted as part of the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
