Ploughsoil finds of Romano-British pottery and roof tile, along with some flue tile. Two datable sherds of pottery suggest a third- or fourth century date for the site.

[SY 52949364] "Fragments of Roman roof tiles (pottery). Blue tiles (fragments). Roman pottery sherds and oyster shells. The finds are of Higher Sturthill. Shipton Gorge, Bridport. <1>
DO 1 Listed as the possible site of a Roman villa. <3>
