Full Description

(Listed under bowl barrow) Cairn. Diameter 12 paces, height 3.5ft. <2> A bowl barrow largely composed of flints. Quarried on the west side. <3> A bush and grass covered bowl barrow 10.0m diameter 1.3m high on the east. Mutilated on the top and in the west exposing large flints. No trace of a ditch. <4> Best refers to the above bowl barrow and adds "I have always suspected that another, much robbed and eroded stands close to the `Driftway' (see SY 69 NE 44) about a furlong NNW of the first" (From the description, this second barrow would be situated at circa SY 655976 - Nothing visible on RAF air photographs). <6> SY 65609750. Bowl barrow description and measurements of authority 4 confirmed. There are no extant remains of a second barrow (see Authority 5). Revised at 1-2500 on MSD. <7>
