Summary
A slightly asymmetrical disc of Kimmeridge Shale almost 18 cm in diameter and some 1.3 cm thick, with a central perforation. Both faces have a similar incised decorative motif of four 'wheels' over chevrons, with panels finely cross-hatched. Recovered broken from ploughsoil in 1959 and restored by Bristol City Museum.

Full Description
SY531938. A shale disc 7" in diameter and carved with 'wheel-like' geometric patterns on both faces was found in a field 500 yards West of South Eggardon Farm during ploughing. Dorset County Museum Acc No. 1959-50. <1>
