Summary

A series of artificial platforms at South Eggardon Farm. Ploughing in 1964 revealed parts of two possible flint footings Hutchins continuators record a hamlet of three tenements with the manor. Pottery recovered from the site was mainly sixteenth and seventeenth century in date.

Full Description

SY536937, South Eggardon Farm. Ploughing in 1964 revealed the flint footings of one house ca. 60 feet by 20 feet and the probable remains of a second. The large quantity of pottery suggests a C16th or C17th date. Hutchins says that there was a hamlet of three tenements with the manor of South Eggardon. <1>
