A house thought to have been built around the middle of the 18th century, formerly The Sun Hotel and now the Ropemakers public house. The three-storey building has walls of colourwashed brick with stone details, and a slate roof.

Full Description
                Probably mid 18th century house, now the Ropemakers Public House. A three storey brick building with rusticated stone quoins, a slate roof and a parapet. Three ranges of 3-light sash windows: a Venetian window in centre of first floor. Two gabled attic dormers. The building was formerly the Sun Hotel in 1950, at the time of listing. <1>
Mid 18th century public house.  Colour washed brick.  Slate roof.  3 storeys.  Parapet.  Rusticated quoins.  3 ranges of 3-light sashes, those on 1st floor retaining wide glazing bars. Venetian window in centre of 1st floor.  Stone or plaster keystones and terminal voussoirs.  2 gabled attic dormers. <5>
