Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
One of two mounds seen on aerial photographs taken by the RAF in the late 1940s. Situated on a slight knoll east of Calfhay Farm buildings, these mounds were interpreted as possible round barrows. A site visit in 1977 could reveal no trace of these monuments.

Full Description
Four possible earthworks are situated on a small knoll 300 yds east of Calfhay Farm (ST 61290654). At ST 618066 are two possible round barrows each about 80 ft in diameter and about 40 ft apart. <1>
There are no visible remains of round barrows upon the ridge east of Calfhay Farm, nor are there any visible remains of an enclosure as described above to the north-west. All the fields are under pasture. None have any significant names. The farmer could offer no information and knew of no barrows on his land. <2>
