Listed Building record MDO13987 - Stourpaine House, Stourpaine

A country house with wings built in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The earlier western wing contains original features such as ceiling beams and a staircase, remodelled in the nineteenth century. The building has rendered walls and the roof is covered in tiles and slates. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

Stourpaine House (86030856) is of two storeys and has rendered walls and pantileD and slated roofs. The house is of two periods; the main range, on the east is of the early 19th century and has a symmetrical eastern elevation of five bays with sashed windows. A lower wing on the west probably dates from the late 18th century; it has a square-headed front doorway with a reeded architrave. A covered way with a coved lead roof, supported on small columns with moulded caps, connects the front doorway with a doorway in the garden wall. <2-3>
