Summary

Fragments of pottery found during the construction of a reservoir in the 1940s were given to the Dorset County Museum. The pottery was mostly early Iron Age in date but two pieces of Roman pottery were also found.

Full Description

SY 495 946. Iron Age and Roman pottery found during the construction of a reservoir on Waddon Hill may indicate a settlement site. The pottery was generally Iron Age `A', but Samian ware was also found. <1>
