Late 16th century house, with an addition of 1649.

Abbeylands : A house built probbly late in the 16th. Cent. With an addition of 1649 on the S.W. The three gables have exposed timber framing, and there are some original oak framed windows and restored stone mullioned windows in the house. <2> The building is still called Abbeylands ; part of it is old, but there are large modern extensions which form a House of Sherborne School. <3> ST 63831667 The late 16th. Cent. Building has an E. frontage on Cheap Street, and has a lower storey of stone, with jettied timber construction above. The S.W. part of the house is of stone, and a doorway at the S.E. corner incorporates the date "1649". The building is in good condition with minor modern additions and alterations. The roof is of stone slates. <5> The adjoining modern houses, to the W.S.W. of the 16-17th cent. One, are also called Abbeylands, and are intercommunicating. The Abbeylands. <4> <5>
