Summary
A village school built in 1862 to the designs of C C Creeke. A series of three dates stones record that "This School House was built by G C Talbot, 1862. and endowed by M A Talbot, 1873. It is built in a picturesque asymmetrical group in buff brick Romanesque style with a single-storey entrance building. The main hall building behind has a steep hipped slate roof with a round-arched bellcote with gable on kneelers at the back of the hall. Modern wings have been added to the north and west.

Full Description
1862, C C Creeke. Picturesque (though modernised) asymmetrical group in buff brick Romanesque style, some lattice glazing survives. Single-storey entrance building with round-arched windows under gables, cornice of angle set and projecting bracketed bricks. Main hall behind with steep slate hipped roof; stepped triplet of arched windows under gable to south. Big hipped dormer with 3 arched lights in glazing bars, similar full-height windows for classrooms to south and north-west. Projecting wing to west (former school house) with many gabled round-arched dormer window of different sizes. Round-arched bellcote with gable on kneelers at back of hall. Small single storey gable to north-east with bull's eye over round-arched window. Modern wings to north and west. <1>
