Summary
The Church of the Ascension, Woodlands was built in 1892 by G F Bodley for the Countess of Shaftesbury. The Anglican parish church has brick walls with stone dressing and a tiled roof. It has a bell-cote, a chancel and two naves divided by a four-bay arcade of octagonal piers. The interior walls are plastered and there is a carved oak chancel as well as a carved and painted timber altar and reredos. In addition the building has a 12th century circular stone font on a 20th century base, originally from Knowlton Church.

Full Description
SU 05080900. The Parish Church of the Ascension was built in 1892 by G F Bodley for the Countess of Shaftesbury. It has a bell-cote, a chancel and two naves divided by a four-bay arcade of octagonal piers. <2-3>
