Summary
Garden temple built after 1878 by George Burt, square on plan with a tiled roof of concave profile surmounted by terra-cotta dragons, supported on stone Tuscan columns from the toll- houses removed from John Rennie's Waterloo Bridge (1817). Raised on a stone terrace with balustraded parapet and approached by stone steps. Floor paved with encaustic tiles removed from the House of Commons in about 1880. Three mutilated stone statues (probably seventeenth century) in front of the Temple, from the second Royal Exchange.
