Summary
A World War II Norcon, circular pillbox, constructed in 1940-41. It is located by the ford on the River Frome on the edge of Moreton village. The pillbox has six embrasures, a brick base and roof edging. The main part of the structure is of concrete and is sunk about 1 foot into the ground. A small access pit made of brick is located outside the entrance. A field visit in 1996 found the pillbox to be in a good condition.

Full Description
Norcon circular pillbox, with brick base and roof edging, the main part of the structure being concrete. An arch type entrance gives access to the inside. The structure is sunk about 1ft into the ground and a small access pit made of brick is located outside the entrance. 6 embrasures.
Dimensions:- 6ft high, 4ft diameter (approx.).By the ford through the River Frome on the edge of Moreton village.
1. A well preserved Norcon Pillbox overlooking the crossing ford on the edge of Moreton Village.
2. It is of typical design design with brick base and roof edging with the main part of the structure being concrete.
3. An arch type entrance gives access to the inside. However, the structure is sunk about 1' into the field and hence a small access pit construted of brick is located outside the entrance.
