Summary
A World War Two type 22 pillbox located on the southern edge of Peacock Plantation, Frampton. It is of standard construction with brick and concrete and was built in 1940-41. A field visit in 1997 found the pillbox to be in a good condition.

Full Description
Type 22 pillbox, of standard construction with brick and concrete. Much of the edge of the concrete roof is now exposed due to the top two tiers of bricks being used to shore up the river bank 10 yards in front of its position. Dimensions, internal height 74ins, internal wall width 70ins. T-shaped blast wall 39ins x 44ins x 9.5ins. 5 main embrasures 15ins x 8ins externally widening to 28ins x 14ins internally. Embrasures all cast in concrete. Small entrance pistol port 14ins x 7ins x 7ins, with bevelled edges. Porch type entrance 27ins x 46ins internal width, 28ins x 70ins at external. Entrance roof 12ins decreasing to 10ins at edge. Roof concrete 12ins thick. External walls 7ft 7ins wide. 3 concrete steps down into entrance. On the S edge of Peacock Plantation, Frampton. <1-3>
