Full Description

'It is believed that this structure was constructed for a 20mm Light Anti-Aircraft gun of the US Army, probably manned by personnel of the 184th LAA Battalion. It is a deceivingly small structure, octagonal in shape with a diameter of approximately 8'. A small rectangular building of approximate dimensions 3' x 2½' x 2½' is located at the up-valley side. Constructed of Purbeck stone it has a commanding position above Tyneham village. Direct access to it is not possible as it lays [sic] 10' inside the MoD firing range fence.'
