Full Description

Four fourth century Roman coins were found by W. H. Baskett in the triangle between Prince of Wales Road, King's Road and Athelstan Road, Dorchester, possibly in the 1950s. The coins were: 1. AE 3, Constantine I. Reverse: 2 winged victories facing. Mint: PLG. 2. AE 3, Constantine II. Reverse: Gloria Exercitus. Mint: TRS. 3. AE 3, Constantine family. Reverse: BEATA TRANQVILLITAS. Mint: PLON (?). 4. AE 3, House of Constantine. Constantinopolis. Mint TRP. (1)
