Summary
The remains of a single inhumation burial were disturbed during building work to the Sydney Arms Public House, Bridport Road, Dorchester. The badly preserved skeleton was of a female aged 25-25 at time of death. No dating evidence was recovered, but it is likely that this skeleton is associated with other Roman inhumation burials which have been found nearby and form part of a Roman cemetery which runs along the northern side of Bridport Road.

Full Description
The badly preserved remains of a single human skeleton were disturbed during building work at the Sydney Arms Public House, Bridport Road, Dorchester. The skeleton was of a female aged 25-35 years at time of death. No details of its context, orientation, posture, etc are known.
This skeleton is undated but is llikely to be part of the Roman inhumation cemetery which runs along the northern side of Bridport Road.
