Summary

A bowl barrow recorded as being around 12 metres in diameter, visible as a slight earthwork mound. It has suffered damage by wheel ruts. A circular mound is still visible at this location as a cropmark on aerial photographs . It is considered likely to be the remains of a late prehistoric round barrow. It is one of three potential barrows located in this vicinity (MDO1858-9 & MDO29301).

Full Description

A. A grass covered bowl barrow 12.0m in diameter and 0.2m. high cut by modern vehicle ruts. <1> A. Bowl barrow of which only a slight mound remains. <2> <4> A. No visible remains - ploughed out. <5> A circular mound, approximatley 15m in diameter, is still visible at this location as a cropmark on aerial photographs <7>. It is considered likely to be the remains of a late prehistoric round barrow. It is one of three potential barrows located in this vicinity (MDO1858-9 & MDO29301). This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
