Full Description

A bowl barrow, 50 feet in diameter by 3 feet high in pasture, but probably ploughed, situated on the south edge of spur projecting from Moigns Down. <1> <3> SY 75488399. Diameter 15.0m, height 1.3m. No visible ditch. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <4> A Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 2005 on Moigns Down, Owermoigne. The barrow is sub-circular in shape and measures approximately 8 m in diameter. <3> The barrow is scheduled together with three others located to the south and east (see MDO1860, MDO1863 and MDO1864). This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
