Summary
A prehistoric contracted inhumation burial was found by AC archaeology during works at Dorchester Middle School, Coburg Road, Dorchester in 1998. The burial of an adult male with his legs brought up to his chest, placed on his right side with his head to the north was found in an oval grave pit. No grave goods were recovered.

Full Description
A prehistoric contracted inhumation burial was found by AC archaeology during works at Dorchester Middle School, Coburg Road, Dorchester in 1998 (1) (2). An oval grave pit was found in the southeast part of Trench 3. This contained the contracted remains of an adult male aged 25-35 years, on his right side with head to the north, facing east. No grave goods were recovered. This burial is undated, but it is likely to date to the Early Bronze Age, broadly contemporary with the Beaker burial also found on the site.
