An MBA dagger from Fordington. The blade is with incised lines parallel to the edges enclosing a dotted decoration. The remains of the sheath with the impression of its ?wooden mouth, still cover the butt end. Given by Rev. H Moule. (1) This object was found in association with bone implements and is typical of a funerary deposit.(2) It is likely to derive from a Barrow in Fordington Parish, near Dorchester although no information survives as to which one. Mapped as a point with a 4 figure grid reference (SY6990).
