A struck bronze coin of the Durotriges was found by a Mr. Wakeley in 1939 in the garden on the east side of Glyde Path Road, Dorchester where part of a Roman building was excavated in 1880.

Full Description
'A struck bronze coin of the Durotriges (Mack 318, Evans G6) was found by a Mr. Wakeley in 1939 in the garden on the east side of Glyde Path Road, Dorchester, in which B.A. Hogg excavated part of a Roman building in 1880 (SY69109088). Mr. Derek Allen, who has kindly supplied the details, gives its weight as 53.8 grains and states that it is much more worn than usual. Some of this wear may be recent however.' (1)
