Summary
Burial 8 was one of a number of burials revealed during an excavation by Wessex Archaeology in the garden of 8 Albert Road, Dorchester in 1986. The burial was of an adult female lying on the left side, with the head to the south and with the legs slightly flexed. This burial was found just below the surface of the garden and was badly disturbed. No trace of a grave cut was found. The date of this burial is not known, but it probably belongs to the Roman cemetery in this area, but could be later in date.

Full Description
Burial 8 was one of a number of burials revealed during an excavation by Wessex Archaeology in the garden of 8 Albert Road, Dorchester in 1986 (1)(2). The burial was of an adult female aged about 25-35, lying on the left side, with the head to the south and with the legs slightly flexed. This burial was found just below the surface of the garden and was badly disturbed. No trace of a grave cut was found. The date of this burial is not known, but it probably belongs to the Roman cemetery in this area, but could be later in date.
