Please read our .

Summary

A watching brief at Christchurch Priory , Christchurch, during 1985, recorded an undated grave [3] with a filling of clean brown sand. It was not completely excavated because it mostly lay below the contractors 1m depth limit. However, it was determined that the skull lay within the trench. A date of between 1540 and 1750 is suggested as this grave is sealed by a loam containing 18th-19th century pottery and cut through the foundations for the priory cloister block.
