Summary
A small rescue excavation at Druitt Gardens, Christchurch, during 1977 (site X14), revealed evidence for a multiphase ditch [F4, 6, 7] 0.3m deep running across the excavation area. The latest phase [F4] contained 18th century finds as well as three residual sherds of Roman pottery. This ditch is not on the Tithe map of 1844.

Full Description
K. Jarvis conducted a small rescue excavation at Druitt Gardens, Christchurch, during 1977 (site X14. The results were subsequently published as a short note in DNHAS monograph 5 (1).
The excavations revealed evidence for a multiphase ditch [F4, 6, 7] 0.3m deep running across the excavation area. The latest phase [F4] contained 18th century finds as well as three residual sherds of Roman pottery. This ditch is not on the Tithe map of 1844.
