Summary
Observations during the construction of a car park in Bank Close, Christchurch, during 1980, revealed a sandy layer to the NE of the line of medieval ditch A. This sandy layer may have been the associated bank.

Full Description
Archaeological observations were carried out during the construction of a car park at Bank Close, Christchurch, during 1980. These observations were subsequently published as a short note in DNHAS monograph 5 (1) and as a note in PDNHAS 109 (2).
The observations revealed a sandy layer to the NE of the line of medieval ditch A. This sandy layer may have been the associated bank. This was cut by an oven of mid-13th century date (1).
