WWII pillbox (variant). Field Visit, 1996, Field Visit, 1998, Field Visit, 1996, Field Visit, 1995 Pillbox disguised by being built into the NW side of the A35 road bridge over the railway at Roeshott Hill, using bricks similar to those in the bridge. Faces NW and includes a sentry walk. The pillbox was positioned to defend the Christchurch anti-tank island from attack by invading forces from inland (1).
