Geophysical survey during 1990 on ground to the east of Abbey House and south of the Abbey car park, Abbotsbury revealed a series of interlocking linear anomalies close to the eastern precinct wall of the abbey. These anomalies are suggestive of a medieval monastic building constructed against the inside of the abbey precinct wall. However, it is also possible that they represent drains or garden paths.
